]]> This is a custom Celsius that I worked on for the upcoming show at Toy Art Gallery next month. I’ve been sitting on it for a while, but wanted to wait until closer to the show to post pics. I really enjoyed working on this platform and twisting it around into one of my creatures. I hope you enjoy him.

After he was all done it kinda reminded me of the flying Koopas from Super Mario brothers so that’s where his name came from.

]]> So I realized that we are already deep into the month of June and I hadn’t really shared any of the things I have been working on. The item that I am most excited to be working on is by far my largest sculpted piece to date. It really feels like I am taking everything that I have learned so far in my toy sculpting and fabrication and putting it into this piece. The thing is, is that I am not ready to share any sneak peaks yet. It is going to debut at the “Shady Characters” show at Alcove in August, so as it gets closer I will start revealing a little bit.

Other items that I am working on….. Kidrobot is having a custom Munny competition this month, so I got my blanks in the mail the other day and have started sculpting on one of them. I’m hoping to get 3 done by the end of the month and I have plans once they are sold to donate all of the proceeds to a specific charity, but more on that as they get closer to finished.

Mainly I just wanted you to know that I have not slowed down, I am indeed full steam ahead.

]]> Yesterday I poured 3 new silicone molds. 1 was a re-pour of my last mini-figure WDR to see if I could refine a few things and make the casting a little easier. The second one I didn’t glue my figure down good enough and it floated to the top wasting the silicone (I poured a new mold today…. hopefully I can do a test pour tomorrow). And then the 3rd was of my new mini figure Armadillididug which reminds me of the potato bugs or rolly polly bugs that I would play with and watch them curl into a ball as their defense mechanism. Here are a couple of test pours that I did to see how they’d come out. I’ll paint them up soon and post some new pics. They’re about 3.5″ tall.

]]> I just had some really high-quality stickers printed up of these lego zombie designs that I did. So far the response from folks that have seen them has been really good. So good, I got a photo back of one in use.

That made me decide to have a contest now through the end of July. Here’s how it works:

• Buy a sticker
• Send me a pic of it in use to brian@briancolinart.com
• At the end of July I will take my 5 favorite pics and randomly select one to win either a custom lego-zombie canvas or a customized 7″ lego zombie toy (winner’s choice)
